Portable Traffic Light (PTL) Made Suitable for Use on Tasmanian Roads

The Department of State Growth has assessed the Madison Technologies Portable Traffic Light (PTL) and considers the device suitable for use on Tasmanian roads.

The approval relates only to the device being used for works on roads undertaken in accordance with the ‘Department of State Growth’s Traffic Control for Work on Roads – Tasmanian Guide’ that has documented authorisation from the relevant road authority.

The PTL Type 1 Portable Traffic Signal System was designed in accordance with Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) technical standards MRTS264. A standard that will be made mandatory in Queensland from 1 August.

Madison Technologies has created the next generation portable traffic signal system as a safer alternative to STOP/SLOW signs for traffic management and is designed with easy set-up and operation with minimal training in mind.
