Moxa ISD-1130-T RS-422/485 Surge Protector

Overview

The Moxa ISD-1130-T is a compact, plug-and-play RS-422 / RS-485 data-line surge protector designed to protect downstream serial devices from surge events propagating along the data cable. It delivers EN / IEC 61000-4-5 Level 4 (4 kV signal) surge protection with no drivers, no configuration, and no external power – the device sits inline on the serial cable and begins protecting the instant it is connected. Installs inline on an RS-422 or RS-485 cable via the screw-down terminal block; suitable for daisy-chained multi-drop bus topologies where surge protection is fitted near the cable entry to a building or cabinet.

Installation

Designed for desktop or in-line installation. The surge protector is fitted between the host and the field device on the serial cable; no rack, DIN rail, or wall-mount hardware is required. With no drivers or configuration, the device requires no ongoing maintenance and does not appear on the network or to the host operating system – it is fully transparent to the protected link.
