The Rajant FE1-2255B Peregrine BreadCrumb® is a cutting-edge industrial-grade wireless mesh node designed to provide robust, high-speed connectivity in challenging and dynamic environments. Equipped with four transceivers—two operating in the 2.4 GHz band and two in the 5 GHz band—the Peregrine supports up to 2.3 Gbps of total data throughput, making it ideal for data-intensive, mobile applications across mining, construction, military, transportation, and smart infrastructure.

At the heart of the Peregrine is Rajant’s patented InstaMesh® technology. Operating at Layer 2, InstaMesh continuously adapts in real-time to network topology changes, ensuring seamless data forwarding and optimal path selection even as nodes move. This results in resilient, self-healing wireless mesh networks that eliminate single points of failure and maintain connectivity across mobile assets and personnel.

The Peregrine supports multiple MIMO (2×2) radio interfaces, allowing for concurrent multi-frequency communication in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. It is also compatible with military, licensed, and proprietary frequencies, offering flexibility for diverse regulatory environments. Each unit comes equipped with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, enabling access point and client mode services to interface with common devices such as IP cameras, sensors, tablets, and smartphones.

It supports a wide range of encryption protocols, including AES256-GCM, XSalsa20, and HMAC-SHA512, providing per-hop, per-packet authentication and robust data protection. For deployment simplicity, features like Automatic Protocol Tunneling (APT) enable fast off-loading to Ethernet, and its bridge-mode links ensure smooth integration into existing networks.

Physically, the unit is built to withstand harsh conditions. Its rugged, environmentally sealed IP67-rated enclosure supports operation in extreme temperatures from -40°C to +70°C, ensuring reliable performance in the toughest industrial and outdoor environments.
