The Moxa MGate 5114 is a 1-port power protocol gateway converting Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP and IEC 101 to IEC 104, with 2000-point capacity, 2 kV serial isolation, microSD backup, and dual DC power. 12–48 VDC, 0 to 60°C.
The Moxa MGate 5114 is an industrial Ethernet gateway integrating Modbus RTU/ASCII/TCP, IEC 60870-5-101, and IEC 60870-5-104 into a single device for power SCADA applications. Acting as a Modbus master/client or IEC 101 master, the MGate 5114 collects data from field devices and exchanges it with IEC 104 systems — providing the protocol flexibility needed to connect legacy serial assets to modern Ethernet-based SCADA infrastructure. Traffic logs can be viewed directly in Wireshark for rapid troubleshooting.
Modbus RTU/ASCII supports master and slave with up to 128 commands (function codes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 15, 16, 23). Modbus TCP supports 16 client and 32 server connections with 128 commands. IEC 104 supports 32 client and 32 server connections with 2000 information objects. IEC 101 supports balanced and unbalanced master/slave with 1 balanced or 31 unbalanced connections and 2000 information objects.
Two 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports with 1.5 kV magnetic isolation provide built-in Ethernet cascading. The RS-232/422/485 serial port supports 50 bps to 921.6 kbps via DB9 male connector with ADDC for RS-485. Configuration is via Web Console (HTTP/HTTPS), DSU, or Telnet. Security includes HTTPS (TLS 1.3), AES-128/256, SHA-256, and SNMPv3.
Powered by redundant dual 12 to 48 VDC inputs via screw-fastened Euroblock terminal, drawing 455 mA @ 12 VDC. Standard operating temperature is 0 to 60°C; the MGate 5114-T wide-temperature variant extends this to -40 to 75°C. Ambient humidity tolerance is 5 to 95% non-condensing. The metal IP30 housing is DIN-rail mountable.
