Overview
The Moxa UPort 207 is a 7-port entry-level USB 2.0 hub that expands a single USB port on a laptop, workstation, or industrial PC out to 7 downstream USB Type A ports. Unlike basic consumer hubs, the UPort 207 is externally powered (12-40 VDC via included universal adapter), delivering a full 500 mA of power per port – ample headroom for hard drives, printers, scanners, and other high-current peripherals that would brown out on a bus-powered hub.
Key Features
- 7 x downstream USB Type A ports, each rated 500 mA at 5 VDC
- Hi-Speed USB 2.0 (up to 480 Mbps), USB-IF certified for interoperability
- 15 kV ESD Level 4 protection on every USB port (contact 8 kV, air 15 kV)
- Externally powered with included universal adapter; AU-plug replacement PWR-12300-WPAU-S1 available
- Wide 12 to 40 VDC input voltage – suits mobile, vehicle, and DC-bus installations
- Comprehensive diagnostic LEDs per port plus global status
- Polycarbonate (PC) housing with underside keyhole slots for wall mounting
- True plug-and-play with every major OS – no drivers required
Applications
- Industrial workstations and kiosks needing more USB ports than the host provides
- Point-of-sale stations driving multiple USB peripherals (printers, scanners, drawers, pin pads)
- Mobile and vehicle installations (12-40 VDC input accepts most vehicle DC buses)
- Test benches and service kits with multiple USB instruments
- Server racks consolidating KVM, management cables, and dongles to one upstream port
- Any deployment where high-current downstream devices need stable 500 mA per port

Supported Platforms
USB hubs are transparent to the host operating system – no drivers are required on Windows, Linux, macOS, or any other USB 2.0-capable host. The UPort 207 presents downstream devices directly, with 500 mA of stable per-port power ensuring that high-draw peripherals (external hard drives, label printers, industrial scanners) operate reliably under sustained load.
