The Moxa UPort 1610-8-G2 is an 8-port USB-to-serial converter in a metal IP20 chassis. It bridges a single USB 3.2 Gen 1 host port out to 8 independent DB9 serial ports running RS-232 at baudrates up to 921.6 kbps. Dual-power input (USB bus or external 12-48 VDC adapter) keeps the unit online independent of the host USB bus budget, and the 1600-G2 platform inherits the latching USB cable, 512-byte per-port FIFO, ADDC for RS-485, and double-sided corner LEDs from the current UPort G2 platform.
Moxa ships Real COM / TTY drivers for Windows (11 down to 98/95 plus Server NT to 2022, legacy range on 16-port models), Linux kernel 2.4.x through 6.x, macOS 10.12 to 11.x, and VMware Fusion / ESXi / Parallels Desktop for virtualised hosts. Android 3.1.x and later is supported through the Moxa Android API. G2 variants update to the current driver stack shared with the 1400-G2 family.
