The Moxa MGate 5123-T is a 1-port industrial gateway converting CANopen, J1939, and proprietary CAN to PROFINET, with IEC 62443-4-2 SL2 security, 2 kV CAN isolation, and wide-temperature operation from -40 to 75°C. 12–48 VDC.
The Moxa MGate 5123 is an industrial Ethernet gateway that simultaneously converts CANopen, J1939, and proprietary CAN (CAN 2.0A/B) protocols to PROFINET and SNMP. Designed for factory automation, process automation, and power applications, the MGate 5123 acts as a CAN master to collect data from existing CAN-based devices and exchange it with a PROFINET IO controller. Compliance with IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 makes it suitable for industrial deployments with formal cybersecurity requirements.
CANopen master mode supports up to 64 nodes, 256 receive PDOs, and 256 transmit PDOs with SDO support. J1939 mode handles up to 256 commands. Proprietary CAN supports both CAN 2.0A and CAN 2.0B frame formats with up to 256 transactions. All CAN modes provide 2048 bytes of input and output data. Baudrate options span 10 kbps to 1 Mbps for CANopen and proprietary CAN, with 250 kbps, 500 kbps, and 1 Mbps for J1939.
PROFINET IO Device class B mode supports 2 IO controllers as shared devices, with 1440 bytes of input and output data per controller (2880 bytes total each direction). Two 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports with 1.5 kV magnetic isolation enable Ethernet cascading. Configuration is via Web Console (HTTPS) or Device Search Utility. Security features include HTTPS (TLS 1.3), AES-128/256, SHA-256, and SNMPv3.
Powered by redundant dual 12 to 48 VDC inputs via spring-type Euroblock terminal, drawing up to 455 mA. The MGate 5123-T operates across the full wide-temperature range of -40 to 75°C, suitable for unconditioned cabinets, outdoor enclosures, and harsh industrial environments. Ambient humidity tolerance is 5 to 95% non-condensing. The metal IP30 housing is DIN-rail mountable.
