The Moxa ICF-1171I-S-ST is an industrial CAN/CAN FD to single-mode fibre converter with 2 kV isolation, CAN FD up to 5 Mbps, rotary rate switches, dual redundant power, and relay output. Extends up to 40 km. 12–48 VDC, 0 to 60°C.
The Moxa ICF-1171I-S-ST is an industrial CAN-to-fibre converter that extends CAN 2.0 and CAN FD communication over single-mode optical fibre up to 40 km. Unlike the ICF-1170I which supports CAN 2.0 only, the ICF-1171I adds native CAN FD support with data rates up to 5 Mbps, making it suitable for modern CAN FD networks. Two CAN 2.0 or CAN FD networks can communicate at different baudrates — the converter auto-detects CAN 2.0 baudrates, and rotary switches allow manual configuration. The 2 kV isolated CAN port and dual redundant power inputs ensure uninterrupted operation in harsh environments.
The single-mode fibre interface uses 100BaseFX ST connectors (9/125 µm (OS1) single-mode). Both multi-mode and single-mode variants use a 1310 nm wavelength (1280–1340 nm TX, 1100–1600 nm RX). TX power is 0 to -5 dBm, RX sensitivity -3 to -34 dBm, link budget 29 dB with 1 dB dispersion penalty. The CAN port uses terminal block connectors (CAN_L, CAN_H, CAN Signal GND) with DIP-selectable 120 Ω termination.
Powered via terminal block with two independent 12 to 48 VDC inputs drawing up to 188.5 mA. Standard operating temperature is 0 to 60°C; -T variants extend this to -40 to 75°C. Storage temperature -40 to 85°C. Ambient humidity 5 to 95% non-condensing. Metal IP30 housing, 294 g, DIN-rail and wall mountable.
