The Moxa ICF-1170I-M-ST-T is an industrial CAN to multi-mode fibre converter with 2 kV CAN isolation, dual redundant power inputs, DIP switch termination, fibre test mode, and 1 Mbps baudrate. Extends up to 5 km. 12–48 VDC, -40 to 85°C.
The Moxa ICF-1170I-M-ST-T is an industrial CAN-to-fibre media converter that extends CAN bus communication over multi-mode optical fibre using 100BaseFX ST connectors. With 2 kV optical isolation, dual redundant power inputs, and an alarm contact relay, the ICF-1170I is designed to keep CAN bus systems running reliably in demanding environments. It is fully compliant with ISO 11898 and supports baudrates up to 1 Mbps with automatic detection.
The fibre interface uses multi-mode 100BaseFX with ST connectors (50/125 µm or 62.5/125 µm fibre). Wavelength is 850 nm (840–860 nm TX, 800–900 nm RX), TX power 0 to -5 dBm, RX sensitivity 0 to -20 dBm, link budget 15 dB with 1 dB dispersion penalty. The CAN port uses a terminal block with CAN_L, CAN_H, and CAN Signal GND signals. The 120 Ω termination resistor is selectable via DIP switch, or can be left off (N/A).
Powered via terminal block with two independent 12 to 48 VDC inputs drawing 221 mA, providing power redundancy. The ICF-1170I-M-ST-T operates across the full wide-temperature range of -40 to 85°C, suitable for outdoor enclosures and harsh industrial environments. Ambient humidity 5 to 95% non-condensing. Metal IP30 housing, 178 g, DIN-rail mountable.
