The Moxa ICF-1150-M-SC-T is an industrial RS-232/422/485 to multi-mode fibre converter designed for demanding serial-to-fibre installations. Unlike simpler converters, the ICF-1150 supports three-way communication — RS-232, RS-422/485, and fibre ports are completely independent and active simultaneously. When data is received from any one port, it is forwarded through both remaining ports, eliminating the need for a separate RS-232 to RS-485 converter at monitoring stations. The rotary pull high/low resistor switch allows on-site impedance tuning without removing the unit from the DIN rail.
The ICF-1150 provides a DB9 female socket for RS-232 (TxD, RxD, GND) and a 5-pin removable terminal block for RS-422/485. RS-422 supports Tx+/Tx-/Rx+/Rx-/GND; RS-485 4-wire Tx+/Tx-/Rx+/Rx-/GND; RS-485 2-wire Data+/Data-/GND. All three ports (RS-232, RS-422/485, and fibre) forward data received from any port to both other ports simultaneously. The rotary pull high/low resistor offers 10 positions: 150 kΩ, 10 kΩ, 4.7 kΩ, 3.3 kΩ, 1 kΩ, 909 Ω, 822 Ω, 770 Ω, 500 Ω, and 485 Ω.
Uses multi-mode fibre (50/125 µm (800 MHz) or 62.5/125 µm (500 MHz)) with SC connectors. Typical wavelength is 850 nm, TX power 0 to -8 dBm, RX sensitivity 0 to -25 dBm, link budget 15 dB with 1 dB dispersion penalty.
Powered via terminal block at 12 to 48 VDC, drawing up to 300 mA. Operating temperature is -40 to 85°C. Ambient humidity 5 to 95% non-condensing. Metal IP30 DIN-rail housing, 330 g.
