Overview

The Moxa EDS-208A-SS-SC is an 8-port compact unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch with 6 x 10/100BaseT(X) copper ports and 2 x 100BaseFX single-mode (SC). Designed for harsh industrial environments, the EDS-208A Series carries a comprehensive certifications stack covering hazardous locations (ATEX, Class I Division 2), maritime (DNV, LR, ABS, NK), rail (EN 50121-4), and traffic control (NEMA TS2) applications. Standard operating temperature range of -10 to 60 deg C.

Installation & Power Redundancy

The switch mounts to a standard 35 mm DIN rail. Power is supplied via a removable 4-contact terminal block at 12, 24, or 48 VDC nominal (9.6 to 60 VDC operating range) with two redundant inputs – both can be connected simultaneously to live DC power sources. Either input alone can carry the switch; loss of one input does not interrupt service. Overload current protection and reverse polarity protection are built in. A DIP switch on the housing controls broadcast storm protection (enable to rate-limit broadcast frames).
