Modern industrial networks often need to connect equipment that speaks different Modbus dialects. The Moxa MGate MB3000-G2 Series provides a secure, efficient bridge between Modbus RTU/ASCII and Modbus TCP, simplifying integration between field devices and Ethernet-based SCADA or PLC systems.
Built on the latest G2 hardware platform, these gateways deliver faster performance, stronger cybersecurity, and improved reliability for critical control and monitoring networks. With simple configuration tools and industrial-grade resilience, MGate G2 gateways make interoperability at the edge effortless.
Effortless Modbus Integration
Translate between Modbus RTU/ASCII and Modbus TCP automatically — supporting up to 32 TCP masters and 32 serial slaves for complex, multi-network topologies.
G2 Hardware Enhancements
The new G2 platform offers upgraded processors for higher throughput, dual Ethernet ports for redundant or cascade operation, and dual 12–48 V DC power inputs for fault tolerance.
Cybersecurity by Design
Developed under Moxa’s IEC 62443-4-1 framework, G2 models support HTTPS (TLS 1.2), SNMPv3, role-based access control, and AES/RSA encryption to protect critical data and configuration interfaces.
Intuitive Setup and Diagnostics
Simplify configuration with MXconfig, web console, or CLI, and monitor system health using Modbus packet inspection, event logs, and email alerts.
Industrial Durability
Rugged metal housings, −40 to 75 °C operating range, and high EMC resistance make MGate G2 gateways ideal for substations, energy systems, water utilities, and process plants.
The MGate G2 Series connects Modbus RTU/ASCII serial devices to Modbus TCP Ethernet systems. It allows PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA software to communicate seamlessly across mixed Modbus networks without requiring protocol coding or hardware changes.
The G2 upgrade delivers improved performance and security, including:
MGate G2 gateways automatically convert between Modbus RTU/ASCII and Modbus TCP, supporting up to 32 TCP masters and 32 RTU slaves. This eliminates manual protocol mapping and enables straightforward integration between field instruments and control networks.
Configuration can be completed via a web interface, command-line interface, or Moxa’s MXconfig utility. The gateways also provide diagnostic tools including Modbus packet capture, event logging, and email alerts to assist with troubleshooting and commissioning.
