MOBOTIX S ONE Dual: Two 4K Views From One Concealed Camera

Most industrial cameras give you one perspective per device. If you need two views (a door entry and a loading bay, or both sides of a conveyor) you’re buying two cameras, two network drops, two licences, and doubling your infrastructure cost.

The MOBOTIX S ONE Dual Concealed Camera takes a different approach. It’s a single concealed camera body with two independently positionable 4K UHD sensor modules, connected by weatherproof cables up to two metres long. One camera, one IP address, one PoE connection, but two completely separate fields of view at up to 30 frames per second each.

Built for environments that punish ordinary cameras

The S ONE Dual is rated IP66, IK10, and NEMA 4X. It operates from –40°C to +65°C. The housing is built from saltwater-resistant PBT-30GF plastic on an aluminium mounting plate, with an embedded vibration and tamper sensor for detecting physical interference.

In practical terms, that means it’s suited to mining sites, coastal infrastructure, transport vehicles, production floors, and outdoor critical infrastructure. These are environments where dust, moisture, vibration, and temperature extremes are business as usual.

The six available lens options (from 15° telephoto to 120° wide) let you tailor each sensor to its specific field of view, whether that’s a narrow corridor or a wide yard.

On-camera AI analytics: no server, no licence fees

Both sensor channels run MOBOTIX’s MxActivitySensor ONE simultaneously. This is AI-based object detection (people and vehicles) processed entirely on the camera itself. No external server, no cloud dependency, and no per-channel licence costs.

That’s a meaningful difference at scale. If you’re deploying 20 or 50 cameras across a site, licence-free edge analytics changes the economics significantly. It also means the analytics keep running even if your network connection to a central VMS drops temporarily.

Drop-in replacement for the S15 and S16

If you’re running MOBOTIX S15 or S16 DualFlex cameras, the S ONE Dual Concealed Camera is a direct physical replacement. The mounting plate uses the same pre-drilled hole pattern, the sensor module openings are the same 43mm diameter, and existing mounts (except first-series PTMounts) carry over. Your existing PoE cabling stays too.

What you gain is substantially better image quality (4K vs the S16’s lower resolution), wide dynamic range, automatic day/night switching per sensor, and the AI analytics layer that the older models don’t have.

For brownfield upgrade projects, this kind of backwards compatibility matters. It reduces installation time, keeps disruption to a minimum, and avoids forcing a full rip-and-replace.

Low power, simple integration

Despite running dual 4K sensors with AI analytics, the S ONE Dual draws only around 9W typically, well within PoE Class 3 (IEEE 802.3af). It supports H.264, H.265, ONVIF Profiles G, S, and T, and integrates with MOBOTIX HUB, MxManagementCenter, MOBOTIX Cloud, and third-party ONVIF-compatible VMS platforms.

Both sensors appear under a single IP address, which simplifies network management and can reduce VMS licensing costs.
